Volunteering tax deduction question?

I live in OHIO and in July 2007 I purchased an airline ticket, hotel, and rental car for the sole purpose of volunteering in New Orleans with a Non-profit organization there. I had no other purpose there other than to donate my time and talents to help rebuild. I purchased all my own food and I was not reimbursed for any expenses.
What expenses can I deduct on my taxes? And what tax forms do I use?

1099 free payroll check
me and a friend of mine have been running automotive businsess and we;ve been thinking of hiring a few people because were always swapt. is there a free program out there that can we can download to create payroll checks with pay stubs and tax forms like w-2 and 1099 and all other types of tax form if we need them. we basically are wanting a program that we can enter the pasic info such as time and wages in and it take the percentage right out of taxes giving you how much is taken for for each kind of tax. is there any such progrom out there tht’s free even one that may even be a free trial one so we can at least see if it’s what we are lookinf for ?
Should there be a voluntary tax?
When you fill out your tax forms shoudl there be a spot for:
“I feel we arent taxed enough and would like to contribute: $__________”
for all of those people who feel we need to paying more in taxes?
Don C – wjhy doesnt Buffet out his money where his mouth is and DONATE that money instead fo offering it out? Why doesnt he opt to not take deductions for his generosity?
