Found tax return preparation in Tax return preparation?
tax return preparation:
Question by Rocker Michael: Tax return preparation?
I have a case study about tax return. If a tax preparer amended prior year’s tax return because a client doesn’t want to pay his mortgage on his home, what could the consequences be if it was amended or if it was not amended? Are there any legal consequences in this situation?
Sorry guys~ maybe I didn’t describe the situation clearly. The situation is that a junior tax preparer is hired to prepare a tax return for a client. He notice that this client had a home mortgage interest expense tax deduction recorded. Thus, he asked this client if the client had any mortgage interest tax deduction for the current year. The client said he never had a mortgage on his home. Therefore, this junior tax preparer wonder if he should amend prior year’s tax return.
My question: what could the consequences be if it was amended or if it was not amended? Are there any legal consequences in this situation?

Paying your mortgage doesn’t have anything to do with taxes but the mortgage interest is what is ded and dealing with the irs always has consequences. If you have certain questions go to irs.gov ask your question and it will direct you to the rules

When filing an income tax return, do I need to include insurance refund from auto accident? My car was total loss. My insurance pay off my loan for the car and gave me back $ 6000 after the payoff. Do I need to report this when filing my income tax return?
Best answer:

Assuming that they paid you the fair market value of the car, and that that was less than you paid for it in the first place, you do not need to claim that on your tax return.

A Look at federal tax return in If a Federal tax return is partially garnished, will the remaining refund still be sent by direct deposit?
federal tax return:
Question by Kristina: If a Federal tax return is partially garnished, will the remaining refund still be sent by direct deposit?
I filed my federal return which is a little over $ 4600.00. I also have an active judgment under my name for federal student loans and they confirmed with me that $ 917.00 was going to be garnished from my tax refund. Due to the offset, is the IRS going to send my remaining refund via direct deposit as I requested or are they going to mail me a check?
